A tourist plate is one that a person who is not a resident of the European Community can request in the Principality for a period of one year, in order to be able to register their car and drive with it. Bearing in mind that these are plates that expire after one year, it is necessary to know that annually (provided one wants to keep the vehicle registered in the country) it will be necessary to request its registration again in the Principality, and pass the ITV like all other vehicles in the country, which means that every year it will be necessary to proceed with the payment of the relevant taxes for the registration, again, of the vehicle.
It must be taken into account, however, that not all vehicles can be subject to tourist registration, only those cataloged as Euro 5 or higher can be. Therefore, if the vehicle you want to import into the country does not have this category, it will not be eligible for tourist plates.
Finally, if a vehicle has tourist plates and is exported from the Principality of Andorra, it is necessary to know that it is not necessary to process any kind of deregistration for it, since once the registrations are not renewed, as established previously, it will be definitively and automatically deregistered.
